Instructions

  1. Place the salmon in a bowl with the teriyaki sauce and let marinade for at least 15-20 minutes.
  2. Once marinaded, place in the airfryer for 12-15 minutes or until cooked.
  3. Brush the teriyaki sauce generously over the salmon fillet and then cook for another 2-3 minutes then remove from the air fryer and set aside.
  4. Lay a sheet of plastic wrap on a clean surface.
  5. Place a sheet of nori seaweed on top of the plastic wrap.
  6. Moisten your hands with water and grab a handful of sushi rice. Spread it evenly on the nori, leaving a border around the edges.
  7. Lay the slices of teriyaki salmon, avocado, and BBQ smoked beetroot on top of each other carefully.
  8. Add a bit more teriyaki sauce or BBQ sauce if desired.
  9. Top with another layer of rice.
  10. Carefully fold the sides of the nori towards the center, creating a square shape.
  11. Fold the bottom and top flaps of the nori over the filling to create a sealed square package.
  12. Wrap the onigirazu tightly in the plastic wrap and let it rest for a few minutes to set. You can use a saucepan to press on top of the onigirazu to secure it.

  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 pack of BBQ smoked beetroot
  • 1 sheets of nori seaweed
  • 1 cup sushi rice, cooked and seasoned with rice vinegar, sugar, and salt
  • 1 ripe avocados, sliced
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
